The Satoyama Initiative is a global effort led by the Ministry of the Environment of Japan (MoEJ) and the United Nations University Institute of Advanced Studies (UNU-IAS) which aims to understand, maintain and restore socio-ecological production landscapes or human-influenced natural environments for the benefit of biodiversity and human well-being around the world. MoEJ and UNU-IAS are currently undertaking activities to launch the international partnership under the Satoyama Initiative at the CBD/COP10 to be held in Aichi, Nagoya, Japan in October. This side event intends to share our on-going activities towards the launch of the partnership and to receive feedbacks from a wide range of participants.
