Meeting
Tenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 10)
At the 3rd IPBES meeting, held in Busan, Republic of Korea in June 2010, governments agreed to establish a new mechanism to strengthen the interface between science and policy on biodiversity and ecosystem services. Whilst it will now take a while to become operational, IPBES is likely to significantly change the way in which biodiversity information is provided to, and considered by, the international policy community. This event will provide an update on the IPBES decisions, the next steps in the IPBES process, and consider some of the possible implications of IPBES for the scientific and policy communities addressing biodiversity and ecosystem services – in the context of the CBD and beyond.
