Eleventh meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 11)

This side event will focus on options and constraints for civil society engagement in GEF and the CBD. The GEF-NGO Network will highlight the current mechanism to ensure civil society engagement in the implementation of GEF programmes and projects. Experience in CSO engagement through the Small Grant Programme will also be highlighted. The results of the financing needs assessment for CBD implementation will be shared with focus on CSO engagement. Discussion will be held on options to enhance civil society engagement in CBD implementation.
