Meeting
Twelfth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity
The environmental crisis due to climate change, ecosystem degradation, decrease in biodiversity, increase in population, and many interrelated factors have continued to deteriorate human health and exacerbate poverty and food insecurity in the ASEAN region. Hence, there is an urgent need to enhance our terrestrial and mangrove ecosystems to sustain human life, provide a good habitat rich in biodiversity, and contribute to the improvement of our climate to avoid extreme environmental catastrophes in the future. We will discuss the role of biodiversity in achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and future cooperation toward ‘Green ASEAN Integration.
