Request for examples of successful collaboration between mountain dwellers and communities living in areas adjacent to mountains in the form of incentives for mountain dwellers

Dear Madam/Sir, I would like to invite Parties, other governments and relevant organizations to submit examples to the Secretariat on successful collaboration between mountain dwellers and communities living in areas adjacent to mountains in form of incentives for mountain dwellers. In paragraph 13 of decision VII/27 on mountain biological diversity, the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity requests the Executive Secretary to compile and disseminate examples of successful collaboration between mountain dwellers and communities living in areas adjacent to mountains in the form of incentives for mountain dwellers (as a way to illustrate the "upland-lowland contract"). Parties, other governments and relevant organizations are invited to submit information on the above, along with the completed attached cover form (Annex), at their earliest convenience but no later than 22 December 2006. I thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter and your continued support to the work of the Convention. Please accept, Madam/Sir, the assurances of my highest consideration.
