Notification 2008-156

Dear Madam/Sir, Pursuant to notification 2008-090 (SCBD/ITS/STTM/SBG/va/64473) dated 23 July 2008, I would like to remind those Parties, other governments and relevant international organizations who have not already provided submissions, to voluntarily contribute information on the (i) status and trends of, and threats to, mountain biological diversity; and (ii) progress made in the implementation of the programme of work on mountain biological diversity for consideration by the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice at its fourteenth meeting, tentatively scheduled to be held in May 2010. Submissions of information to the Secretariat (by fax to +1 (514) 288-6588, or by email to secretariat@cbd.int) are requested as soon as possible and no later than 15 February 2009. Information may be provided in any format deemed appropriate. However, in order to facilitate a strategic assessment of progress made in the implementation, the use of the matrix annexed to notification 2008-090 is encouraged and appreciated.
