Webinar and Workshop on Climate-related Geoengineering

Dear Madam/Sir, Further to COP decision XIII/14 on climate-related geoengineering, I am pleased to inform you that the Carnegie Climate Geoengineering Governance Initiative (C2G2), in collaboration with the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity, is organizing a webinar and a one-day workshop on climate-related geoengineering. The webinar, which is taking place on 2 November 2017, will focus on the governance of research on geoengineering in the context of the Convention on Biological Diversity, while the workshop, which is taking place on 17 December 2017, will focus on transdisciplinary research and governance on climate-related geoengineering. Individuals interested in participating in the webinar should register through the above link as soon as possible and no later than 31 October 2017. Participation is open to a limited number of delegates from among those attending the twenty-first meeting of the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice and/or the tenth meeting of the Working Group on Article 8(j). The workshop will take place at the offices of the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity. Delegates interested in participating in workshop should contact C2G2 by sending an e-mail to contact@c2g2.net as soon as possible and no later than 31 October 2017.
