Peer review of the report on the relevance of pollinators and pollination to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in all ecosystems beyond their role in agriculture and food production

Dear Madam/Sir, In decision XIII/15, paragraph 11, the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity requested the Executive Secretary, subject to the availability of resources, in partnership with relevant organizations and indigenous peoples and local communities, to compile and summarize information on pollinators and pollination relevant to the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity in all ecosystems, beyond their role in agriculture and food production for consideration by the Subsidiary Body on Scientific, Technical and Technological Advice (SBSTTA). In recommendation 22/9, SBSTTA took note of the draft full report prepared by the Secretariat, and requested the Executive Secretary, subject to the availability of resources, to finalize the report, taking into account peer review comments, and make it available for the fourteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity. In light of this request, the report has been made available for peer review and it can be accessed from https://www.cbd.int/agro/peer_review_pollinators.pdf.
