Dear Madam/Sir, As a follow-up to notification 2021-045, dated 23 June 2021, I am pleased to advise Parties and observers that two webinars are being organized by the Group on Earth Observations Biodiversity Observation Network (GEO BON) to provide information on proposed Headline Indicators of the draft post-2020 global biodiversity framework related to the Goal on Ecosystems, species and genetic diversity and the target on protected areas and area-based conservation measures. The webinars are targeted toward CBD focal points and associated communities worldwide and aimed at answering questions on indicator practical use and stimulating discussion on future applications. The webinars will be held on 12 July and 26 July 2021 and will respectively address the following: 12 July - Species populations and area-based conservation Species Habitat Index, Species Protection Index 26 July - Genetic diversity The proportion of populations maintained within species, associated indicators An agenda for the webinars is provided in the attached note. Two sessions will be held each day to accommodate different time zones. They will be delivered in English.
